About Poney Creek Ranch Poney Creek Ranch found its beginnings in the mid-80s and has been driven by the passion of its founders Paula Wolff and the late L.F. Glaser, a husband and wife team who found their ideal horse and ideal recreation in the Paso Fino. Poney Creek Ranch is now one of the most respected Paso Fino breeding programs in the nation with numerous champions, outstanding saddle horses, and pleasure horses to its credit. The ranch's foundation sire, Santana's Comanchero, is a Top-10 Paso Fino sire and is known throughout the industry for the gait, hocks, and disposition he places on his offspring. Today, the Ranch offers some of the finest Paso Finos available to buyers interested in promoting a champion and the most beautiful pleasure horses to owners who want a smooth ride and a great disposition in their equine companions. About Paula Wolff Some people search their entire lives for an activity that generates real passion. Paula Wolff found that passion when she first bought a Paso Fino Horse and it has sustained since 1985. It certainly can be said that Paso Finos entirely changed her life. From that first young mare purchased for trail riding at the Flint Oak auction, Poney Creek Ranch has evolved into a full service breeding, sales, and show facility. Growing up in the city, Paula did not have any "horsey" or riding experience until she decided to raise Paso Finos. Through the years she has taught herself to ride, train, and breed horses by attending seminars, college courses, clinics, reading, working with trainers, and miles of riding and daily work with her horses. The reward of these efforts are not only seen in a successful show career with many National placements and regional championships as an Amateur Owner, but also in the successes of the Paso Fino horses bred and raised on the Ranch. Although Paula believes the shows offer an opportunity to compete with the best of the best, it i s the fun and socialization that keeps her interest in the show ring. By actively being involved in the Paso Fino horse, she has developed a valuable, close network of long-term friends. Although Paula is a real hands-on owner and rider of her horses, her excitement of the breed extends to marketing, promoting, and the business of the breed and its association. Paula enjoys applying her business skills to further the breed and its followers. In the late 80s and early 90s, she served as a delegate of the Ozark Empire Region on the Paso Fino Horse Association Board. Paula has also chaired several committees including Long-Range Planning and Paso Fino Horse World magazine. On the regional level, Paula has served as an officer of the Ozark Empire Region and was instrumental in the development of the High Plains Region of the Association. Paula regularly seeks outlets to promote the Paso Fino. She was instrumental in getting a Paso Fino entry intothe prestigious American Royal Parade and often volunteers at horse events, open houses, demonstrations, and expos. She has also appeared on TV promoting the breed. Paula believes that the Paso Fino Horse is still a "best kept secret" and it is all of our jobs to show the world how great and versatile the breed really is. But with all the work and effort of running the Ranch and volunteering her time to the Association, at the end of the day, the best part of being involved with Paso Finos is just going for a ride on her favorite horse. |
